Artist's Comments

Well, this is my third or so attempt at silk screening. I screwed up while applying the emulsion, which is what caused the tree to lose so much of its detail. Oh well though, it still looks alright. I did the black shirt first, and then the brown one right after. The brown one kind of messed up, but, it still looks alright, since the shirt was fairly worn to begin with. Also, yeah, I know that this type of graphic has been done a million times, I just wanted to see it on a shirt. :-)

All credit on the graphic goes to the makers of the brushes that I used.

So, thanks ~freeda & ~punksafetypin

For some reason the preview is kind of messed up.

Looks great!!! Me likes! :boogie: This deserves a :+fav: :D

I've been wanting to try silk screening for a loooong time but, you know... it takes some money and I'm afraid I'll get bored soon, as it always happens. Plus, I wanted to use the summer to start a tiny silk screening business, but I'm having eye surgery next month and the next one, so I don't think so. :(

My father used to have all the stuff for screen printing at my grandparents' house, but my grandfather thought that a "wooden frame" was useless and thew everything away, except for a 500W lamp and the emulsion (but by that time, I couldn't use it, since my Graphic Technology teacher told me that it lasts about 10 years). Snif.

Oh, I'm rambling... sorry!!!! :blushes:

Nifty, don't have many favorites, it's appreciated. As for silk screening, you could look into EZScreenPrint. The start-up cost isn't quite as steep as traditional silk screening, I've also heard it's really quite easy.

The biggest draw back for me is that it's only one design per sheet, where as with silk screening you can kind of reset the screens & put another design on it. But, if you're wanting to do long-term designs, it seems quite ideal. I would switch to it myself if I didn't only use the design a few times.
